His Excellency Mr. Petr Chalupecky, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the State of Qatar, honored Khaled Albuloshi, a student at the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, on the occasion of winning the Honorary Jury Award in the 52nd edition of the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts – Lidice (ICEFA Lidice) for the year 2024. The competition, held under the theme “Caravans”, is organized by the ICEFA Lidice Foundation in cooperation with UNESCO in the Czech Republic.
The award ceremony was attended by Ms. Maryam Saif Al-Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Shafallah Center, who expressed her pride and appreciation for this achievement, emphasizing that the win reflects the tremendous creative potential of the Center’s students and their ability to represent Qatar in prestigious international art forums.
It is worth noting that the Shafallah Center participated in this year’s competition with seven artworks, created by the Center’s talented members. These pieces visually expressed their creative interpretations of the theme “Caravans,” combining elements of cultural heritage and human diversity in a distinctive artistic approach.
Qatar was the only Arab country represented in this edition of the exhibition, which witnessed strong international participation from 81 countries and received a total of 12,946 artworks, underscoring the high status of this global artistic event.
The significance of the ICEFA Lidice competition lies in promoting creativity by encouraging children from diverse cultural backgrounds to engage in free artistic expression. It also fosters cultural exchange and provides a global platform for children to connect, share ideas, and embrace universal human values.
The Shafallah Center, operating under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, continues to uphold its mission of empowering its members to actively participate in cultural and artistic events both locally and internationally—demonstrating its vision of achieving social inclusion, nurturing talents, and developing the capabilities of persons with disabilities across various domains.
