Shafallah organized an exhibition of plastic arts " The Fabric of Art " at “The Need” Hotel and Vendome Mall

Through a display of artworks for its affiliates with disabilities

The Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities organized an art exhibition of the works of its members with disabilities at “The Need” Hotel during the period from: 27/3/2025 until 8/4/2025, and the plastic arts paintings were displayed in the hotel lobby for a period of thirteen days in support of people with disabilities.

An exhibition of plastic art paintings by the “Shafallah - Bridging Nations: The Fabric of Art” initiative is currently being held at the Place Vendôme Mall. The initiative is organized by the center in collaboration with the Bridging Nations organization and the Académie des Arts et des Lettres in Paris, and in cooperation with the Embassy of the French Republic in the country. The initiative’s art workshops held from February 16th to 20th at the Qatar Museums’ Youth Center.

Ms. Maryam Saif Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Shafallah Center, stated that the exhibitions highlight the importance of community partnership in improving the lives of people with disabilities, and its connection to social development, integration, and empowerment of people with disabilities in society in various fields, including art. She pointed out that the topics of the paintings deal with the sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations.

In this context, Al Suwaidi stressed that plastic arts are an effective way to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, as it contributes to enhancing their social and psychological skills, and said through artistic activities, people with disabilities can express their feelings and ideas in creative ways, which helps them overcome daily challenges, and noted that the arts enhance their sense of belonging to society, as it gives them the opportunity to participate in exhibitions and cultural events, which highlights their talents and changes the stereotypical view towards them. In addition, the arts are a means of connecting with others, helping to build bridges of understanding and mutual respect.

It is worth mentioning that the exhibition includes (17) artworks produced by people with disabilities, these artists represent a variety of abilities and talents and worked with professional artists residing in Qatar, who represent an elite of the country's art scene, and the exhibition will run from 14-19 April.

Mrs. Maryam Saif Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Shafallah Center, expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to both “The Need” Hotel and Palace Vendôme Mall for their support of the Shafallah Center's activities, she emphasized that corporate social responsibility is an essential element to support community issues, especially those of people with disabilities, and contribute to creating a more cohesive and just society.
