In Partnership with Al-Rayyan Sports Club Al-Shafallah Concludes "You're Necessary" Sports Inclusion Festival
Al-Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, in collaboration with Al-Rayyan Sports Club, concluded the "You're Necessary" Sports Inclusion Festival. The festival marked the completion of a training program for participants from the Skills Development Program, which is one of the most prominent and successful opportunities for individuals with disabilities to engage in real social inclusion experiences through sports and recreational activities, under the umbrella of Best Buddies Qatar.
Mrs. Latifa Dasmal Al-Kuwari, Supervisor of Best Buddies Qatar, a program affiliated with Al-Shafallah Center, stated that the Sports Inclusion Festival, organized in collaboration with Al-Rayyan Sports Club's Youth Department, aims to enhance the skills of participants in organizing sports events, as well as promote values of comprehensive social sports inclusion.
Al-Kuwari expressed her sincere gratitude and appreciation for the partnership and cooperation with Al-Rayyan Sports Club's Youth Department in the festival, which carried the slogan "You're Necessary." She emphasized that Al-Rayyan Sports Club is a key partner in organizing the festival and highlighted the significance of partnership between individuals with disabilities and their non-disabled peers. The target participants included members of Al-Shafallah Center, Best Buddies Qatar school clubs, and the youth of Al-Rayyan Sports Club. The festival featured various sports activities, including football skills, bowling, basketball, floor hockey, balance games, and competitive contests.
Remarkably, the festival witnessed the participation of approximately 100 individuals, including students from governmental preparatory and secondary schools, private schools, and the youth of Al-Rayyan Sports Club, in addition to members of Al-Shafallah Center and Best Buddies Qatar program. Mr. Faisal Al-Hammadi, Head of Al-Rayyan Sports Club's Youth Department, stated, "We are always pleased to collaborate and partner with Al-Shafallah Center in all its distinguished activities and initiatives, which aim to integrate youth with disabilities with their non-disabled peers, creating an aware generation capable of facing practical life challenges. There are no obstacles that prevent them from achieving their aspirations and ambitions." He also extended his gratitude and appreciation to all the staff members of Al-Shafallah Center for their dedicated efforts.
