The main Goals Of Shafallah Center
1- To provide comprehensive educational, instructional, rehabilitation, social, vocational and recreational services for children with special needs.
2- To provide support and family counseling services to families of children with special needs, including individual and group therapy.
3- To provide community awareness on dealing with children with special needs, as well as fostering acceptance and understanding of the nature of disabilities.
4- To provide training opportunities through Shafallah Center and establishing an international entity specializing in this field.
5- To serve as an advocate for public policy and legislative support of appropriate educational and vocational programs for children with special needs.

| Authenticity and Aspiration |

Shafallah is the Arabic name for the showy flower of the Caper plants, small shrubs native to the Mediterranean area. They are beautiful flowers displaying an attractive combination of pink and white colors. Botanical studies of plants in our beloved Qatar conclude that the showy flowers of the Caper plant thrive in Qatar. It is from here that naming of the center "Shafallah" was derived, carrying with it cultural, environmental and patriotic significance, adding a humanitarian attribute to the name as it is not only known in Qatar and the Arab world but also on an international level.
Naming the center with the name of the Shafallah flower has combined both aspects of authenticity and aspiration. The former needs no justification. The latter is derived from the symbolic meaning of the plant that combined functionality and usefulness with beauty. Children are the flowers of our country, and it is with optimism for their growth and development that we wish them a long, prosperous life with great aspirations for themselves and their country.

| A Message from the Chairman |

 The Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs was established by the effort and under the authority of the chairperson of the Supreme Council of Family Affairs, Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Bin Abdullah AL-Missned. Her Highness Sheikha Mozah believes in the vitality and importance of the family and the child's role in society, particularly those children with special needs. At the beginning in 1998, the Shafallah Center could only receive a limited number of children due to lack of facilities and capacity at that time. Knowing these limitations the board of directors of Shafallah put into action, as a priority, plans to move to a much larger building and facility to accommodate more children with special needs and increase the services that could be offered to them. The plans were ambitious for not only were they providing for greatly increasing the number of children but the new center was to be built and equipped to the highest international standards in the field of children with special needs.
Since that time, the Shafallah management has exerted great effort and resources to achieve and fulfill its ambitions. It is important to note that the Shafallah Center has received generous donations and support from His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa AL-Thani and Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Bin Abdullah AL-Missned, the chairperson of the Supreme Council of Family Affairs. Also generous contributions and support have been received from various governmental institutions and from national and foreign companies all of which have gone towards the building of the new Shafallah Center.
The new Shafallah Center has been designed and constructed in accordance with the highest standards and latest developments in the field of children with special needs. The Shafallah Center is well equipped to meet the needs of all the children, whatever their physical and developmental disability. The Center aims at providing all the children with the best care, services and educational facilities that will enable them to adapt to the surrounding environment in order to live among others in the community.
It gives us all much pleasure to see our ambitions and dreams come true. This has been achieved by God's will and with all those kind hearted and generous people that have provided tremendous help to benefit the children with special needs and secure their future.
In conclusion, we ask God to help and guide us to achieve our mission in the new Shafallah Center under the wise authority of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa AL-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and his Heir Apparent.
